Cancer or Belly

Cancer or Belly

Scientists revealed that either a “beer belly” or a “muffin top” is more dangerous in leading to bowel cancer than cuter. It has been confirmed that for every inch increase, from the normal waist measurement the cancer occurance percentage increases by 3.
The amount of excessive fat was a factor contributing to the fatal disease which was previously known but it has been added up that the waist size also plays a major role. Researchers said that even if a person who is slim and weighs normal is at the risk of suffering from bowel cancer if he carries a belly.
Healthy waist measurement for women is less than 31.5 inches, less than 37 for White and Black men and less than 35 for Asian men.
Scientists say that if people stay slim without becoming underweight up to 2,700 cases every year in the U.K.
“As well as confirming the link between body fat and bowel cancer, this study has strengthened the evidence that where we carry the fat is also important. This means that people with large waists should try to lose that flab even if they are otherwise in the normal body mass index range,” the Daily Express quoted Professor Martin Wiseman of the World Cancer Research Fund, which paid for the study, as saying.
The scenario is like that even if smoking is controlled cancer cannot be unless people maintain a healthy body and stay slim.
Research are being made on how to prevent abdominal fatness. The results will be published soon at an international conference in London.
