The Honolulu Police Department arrests drug dealers

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) arranged for a sting operation. This sting operation was set up to arrest the drug dealers in the City Parks. This sting operation helped them catch hold of 20 drug dealers. The Honolulu Police Department head says that Stadium Park in Moilili was the only place where the arrest took place. Police reports say that 15 of the arrested people were men and the rest were women. These men and women who were arrested were already charged with drug warrants ranging from $ 11,000 to $ 35,000. The 15 were also convicted felons.

Police says that they have caught hold of these people after an inquiry of three months. The police have investigated since August up to October and now in the month of November they have trapped the culprits. The police officers also said that the investigation is not over as yet as they had to find out five more of the drug dealers. The Honolulu Police Department said that they had targeted a few areas like Stadium Park, McCully-Moilili Library, the Ala Wai Community Park and the Ala Wai Promenade. The drug dealers were causing a lot of tension in McCully and Moilili area. The place was not safe for the people who resided there.

Ron Lockwood, McCully-Moilili Neighborhood Board Chairman said that he received frequent complaints from the people living in those particular areas. The drug deals that took place were not perceptible by the people, but the streets were occupied by the people on drugs. These people were lying on the streets blocking it, thus making thoroughfare predicament for people especially during the night. The roads were not safe for the women who came during the odd hours of the night. Therefore after this arrest the people feel more secured and tenable.
