Vocational Specialist Job Description

The key role of the Vocational Specialist is to evaluate the vocational potential of persons with disabilities or other occupation allied shortcomings and to counseling and case managemnt. He must be able to work as coordinator for special education and employment support. He must be able to implements new innovative ideas and plan for vocational training and to provide assistance in student enrollment process.
Roles and Responsibilities
The main task of the Vocational Specialist is to coordinate with teachers fro holding vocational programs and courses. He must maintain records and make necessary reports which are related to the vocational training programs. It is the responsibility of the Vocational Specialist to provide assistance in student enrollment processes. He should synchronize with community agencies for the placement of the students post completion of their training. He should report requirements relating to budgetary, staff recruitment needs and new programs. It is the responsibility of the Vocational Specialist to ensure to conduct all vocational training activities in accordance with the guidelines and state laws. He must strategize and work towards obtaining grants from organizations. He should implement new innovative plans and ideas for vocational training. It is the role of the Vocational Specialist is to conduct progress analysis and review of students enrolled in vocational programs.
Skills and knowledge specifications
Vocational Specialist should have networking skills and coordination skills. He should be able to coordinate with organizations and agencies. He should have knack to build and encourage confidence amongst students. He must be able to analyze and evaluate the behavior of children. He should have knowledge of the legal guidelines for conducting vocational activities. Vocational Specialist must be able to identify and understand the potential and skills of individuals. He should have good writing, communication and analytical skills. He should have good knowledge in the fields like vocational rehabilitation, special education, social work or any related field.
